Project Move previously known as The Turning Place was founded in 2002 under the direction of Melanie Walker. From its humble beginning as a one room studio in the basement, The Turning Place was bursting at the seams. With a love of dance and a desire to inspire, the studio outgrew its current space. In August 2016, The Turning Place began a new chapter with a new home and a new name.

Under the direction of mother and daughter team, Melanie Walker and Kayla Bagshaw, Project Move offers a balanced environment where dancers can grow technically, artistically and gain the necessary tools needed to become more confident, strong and refined dancers. We offer classes in ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, tumbling, cheer, yoga, pilates, barre, high fitness and more. With an emphasis on technique, we hope to expose our dancers to as many dance forms as possible while still maintaining a base training. From fun recreational classes to competitive performing companies, we have something for everyone. Our state of the art facility offers 3 large studios, full length mirrors, and sprung wood marley floors.

Our Purpose

Project Move is committed to training and nurturing young dancers to express themselves through movement in the most positive and uplifting environment possible. Our purpose is to create a space for dancers to learn, grow, create, escape and become better versions of themselves. We have high expectations for all of our dancers and want to see them succeed by reaching their goals and following their dreams. We invite you to join our family and MOVE with us.
